OUR ADOPTION

We were matched with a little girl in January 2010. We were so excited and could not wait to go to China to bring her home. Unfortunately, once we arrived in China, we became very aware that the precious little one that we thought was our daughter had many, many medical needs that were not disclosed to us. So many needs, in fact, that it would not only require multiple surgeries but possibly years of therapy. As devastating as it was for that sweet little girl, and us, we knew that we just were not equipped to handle her needs.  We returned home without our daughter.
Months have past since our time in China. To say that it has been the darkest time of our lives would be an understatement. We have grieved like never before. As time has gone on, we have found Hope and Light again in Jesus. Through our healing and renewal, we began to feel that calling again. There has been nothing on our journey that has been surprising to my sweet Abba. He knew that, that sweet girl was never intended to be ours. He has since joined her with the family He intended all along. Just as He had a plan for her, He has a plan for us. Our daughter still waits. Our Willa Hope.

Jesus told me years ago that we had a daughter in China. He told us to bring her home. We haven’t done what He has asked of us yet. We have to pick up the pieces and continue to fight. Willa is counting on us.
